Summer salads are some of my favorites. While beets are all the rage these days, goldens deserve a species all their own. I’m proud of them.
Plantain gnocchi with black beans, avocado, roasted red pepper, portobello mushroom confit, shishito pepper, cilantro sprouts.
These gnocchi were different than any I’ve tried. Each bite had a lovely fried warmth, and mingled famously with the mushroom confit.

We decided to support our neighborhood friend Taza by ordering a chocolate pavé. Accompanied by milk stout ice cream, apricot caramels, and brilliantly topped with pretzel sticks, this truly made us forget that it was only Monday.
