joan’s on third
Welcome to Los Angeles, land of small dogs & frozen yogurt.
And two-course lunches, best enjoyed at a sidewalk table outside Joan’s on Third.
This fig + walnut focaccia was, as they say, marvelous. It tasted as good as it looked, since the moist, rich bread created a near-pizza experience.
Grilled maple rosemary chicken breast with mustard caper sauce.
Further evidence that Joan knows how to blend: mustard with maple rosemary = no leftovers, even though there probably should have been.
Unfortunately, photos of the charming inside were illegal. Welcome to LA, where food photographers are oft-mistaken for paparazzi.

That sandwich looks incredible! I’ve never been to Joan’s, I’ll have to put it on my list. I love a little fruit in my sammy.
Food + Lab in LA has some great sandwiches like that too.
Joan’s on Third is so good! They had great red velvet cake too. They probably don’t allow photos because of all the famous clients, such as the cast of GLEE.
Both look yummy! Too bad it’s not Joan’s on Third AVENUE in NYC!
