I think it’s safe to say that everyone enjoys a good meal out. While home-cooked meals are undeniably satisfying, there’s just something magical about palatable presentation without preparation.
There’s also something to be said for an evening free of dish duty.
During a recent vacation to Las Vegas, we enjoyed a tasty lunch at Wolfgang Puck’s poolside restaurant Riva.
I chose a garden tomato gazpacho soup to counteract the sweltering summer afternoon.
S. ordered a roasted turkey sandwich, which came with great potato chips.
I. made a wise decision with the portobella mushroom pizza with sauteed spinach, roasted garlic, fontina and goat cheese. This dish could be easily recreated to bring back the warm, gooey memories.
And L. went with the Chinese chicken salad, an artfully arranged mix with crisp wontons, candied cashews, and sesame-honey-mustard dressing.
One of my favorite parts of eating out is trying a little bit of all the dishes. It gives inspiration, as well as satiation.
