Afternoon shoots like these, with creative baker geniuses like Jim Lahey (of Sullivan Street Bakery & Co), really solidify my love for pizza. We made some pies to celebrate Jim’s latest book, My Pizza, which hit stores this past Tuesday, March 20.

Jim’s NYC apartment gets great natural light and has nice details like whiteboard cabinets and a no-shoes policy. (“IKEA!” he proudly exclaimed.)

I can now say with certainty that if I were a food, I would be a pizza. Perhaps one with broccoli rabe, ginger, bechamel, Thai chilis, garlic, and beautifully drippy mozzarella.
