What do you think these are?
Since they were atop the table of The Butcher Shop at last week’s Taste of the South End, I assumed they were something rather unusual, like dried pig’s ears. I had flashbacks to my childhood, when our collie devoured such treats with relish.
Upon a simple inquiry, I learned that they were, in fact, paper cones of veggie chips. Still slightly exotic, but much more appealing.
The table display of this Barbara Lynch Gruppo Property was rather classy, including such appreciated details as a large meat scale and an imposing knife.
There was also a stack of sandwiches piled high with ribbons of porchetta, pickled fennel & spicy aioli.
