the cookie bar
During my recent trip to Chicago for Pitchfork, I wanted to try as many interesting food spots as I could find throughout the city.
First stop: the Cookie Bar. The name alone was enough to send me running towards Google Maps in anticipation.
There are tons of daily specials, such as the Mackenzie Phillips, which contains oatmeal, peanut butter, chocolate, coconut, caramel, potato chips, banana chips… and Cheerios. Sounds like a good idea to me.
The potato chip chocolate chip cookie was my favorite. The crunchy + salty + sweet combo has still got it.

the potato chip cookie sounds like momofuku’s compost cookie. which steph didn’t like, but i understand the intrigue of it-salty+sweet+savory
can’t wait to hear about more chicago eats!
did you get the recipe? we’ll have to try to bake one of those combinations…or maybe i’ll just try an oatmeal chocolate chip cookie with a bag of chips on the side!
