Meet Christian Sanders, head bartender at The Tippler, a new bar in NYC.

Today’s cocktail: The Curly and the Turk, inspired by every kid’s favorite, the rocket pop. The backstory: it’s named after the Tippling Bros.’ kids, Curly and Turkey (both are nicknames).

It’s a layered drink that begins with a homemade chile-hibiscus syrup, ends with blue curacao, and has a bit of gin in the middle. Make sure to stir it up before the first sip to ensure it doesn’t taste layered, too.
